Intermediate Keelboat Cruising

The Intermediate Keelboat Cruising course is taught in two separate sessions which together lead to the Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Standard Certification.

The sessions are:

Part A - Theory 14 hours (4 three hour sessions) of classroom instruction in Intermediate Cruising Standard Ashore Knowledge culminating in a 2 hour written examination.

Part B - Practice 5 days of on water instruction in Intermediate Cruising Standard Afloat Skills culminating in an evaluation by the Instructor.

Part B practice is conducted during a 5 day, live aboard cruise.   Part A instruction is conducted on board during the 5 day cruise.

Prerequisites:  Basic Cruising Standard, Basic Coastal Navigation or Coastal Navigation Standard,  ROC(M): VHF with DSC endorsement,  Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card (or equivalent)

Course Fees:

The two course parts, Theory and Practice, can be offered in differing formats and to different audiences.  Theory can be offered as a stand alone course to groups interested in that information but not interested in or perhaps not able to take the Practice session.  For that reason, the sessions are priced separately.

The course fee for Part A is $330

The course fee for Part B is dependent up a number of differing variables unique to each student.  Contact me for further information.
