ICC Certificate
International Certificate of Competency
(ICC Certificate)
The International Certificate of Competency is a certificate confirming that an individual is competent to the level required to meet the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Inland Water Committee (UNECE IWC) Resolution 40.
While not legally required under the Resolution, European or other national or provincial jurisdictions may do so and chartering companies may and often do require the chartering party to have this certificate despite the absence of a legal requirement.
A course designed to assure that candidates possess the requisite skills and knowledge for certificate holders is offered under the auspices of International Yacht Training Worldwide, Kelowna, BC. IYT Worldwide is an Issuing Authority for this certificate in Canada and the United States, among others.
The course is conducted both in the classroom and and on the water. The duration and structure of each is dependent upon a number of differing variables unique to each student. Contact me for further information.
